Williams Header

The Hall of Fame program recognizes employees who take proactive steps to help Golden Living reach its goals. It’s for those who are going the extra mile to promote Golden LivingCenters because of the pride they have in the care and services we provide.

I’m pleased to announce our 13th honoree from Team 1:

Jenny Zimpel

Wellness Coordinator, GLC – Heritage Square (Wis.)

In Jenny’s nomination, Executive Director Scott Hochstadt shared that Jenny

consistently has been a tremendous advocate for Heritage Square’s Energy Program. She consistently attends outside marketing events to bring awareness to their program. Jenny brings new and innovative ideas with that add new classes and additional members from our community. To date there are over 100 participants including former residents and family members that attend programs at Heritage Square.

I also want to give kudos to our other finalists for this month’s Hall of Fame:

TEAM 2: Jen Heiser, Director of Nursing Services, GLC – Western Reserve (Pa.)

TEAM 3: LynLee Algarra, Director of Nursing Services, GLC – Lansing (Kan.)

CLINICAL OPS TEAM: Jennifer Lynn, Senior Executive Director, GLC – Briarwood (Ga.)

How the Program Works

Maintaining Our Facilities

Ribar Header

This year we have worked to streamline our building maintenance programs and offer training to help your team keep everything in excellent condition for our patients, residents and employees. Here are a few reminders:

iPod Usage

The iPods we distributed last year to each Maintenance Director are to help you document daily PM tasks, receive emails and perform other functions while you are walking around in your building doing routine inspection and other maintenance tasks. They are property of Golden Living and are not for personal usage. In addition, the iPods must be used within the Golden Living wireless network. If the iPod is not being used or needs configuration, please contact Diane Pitlick at (479) 201-3660.

Training Available

In the Learning Center, several training sessions are offered for Maintenance Directors including how to document Preventative Maintenance tasks on equipment, compliance training on the Life Safety code requirements and iPad usage. To access these training sessions, log into the Learning Center and search for “Building Engines.” Two options will appear – Building Engines BE-Mobile iPod Training and Building Engines Basic Desktop Training. Select which training you need then follow the steps to complete it.

Facility Equipment and Code Compliance Documentation

Documentation of facility equipment and code compliance is very important and should be viewed as the care plan of the facility. If for any reason your Maintenance Director does not understand how to complete a task or needs assistance feel free to contact your Facility Director of Maintenance or myself to support them.

Thank you for your help on these facility maintenance items. We are here to support your efforts to maintain a well functioning building for our patients, residents and employees.
